Concept

The proposed height, scale and density is appropriate to its city centre location and the sensitive design respects the existing street frontage of Queen Street and adjacent blocks. This scheme meets the future vision of a higher density Belfast.

The building is constructed using sustainable materials and aims to maximise energy efficiency.

High levels of solar controlled curtain walling is used to maximise natural daylight into the spaces whilst minimising overheating.

City centre location encourages walking, cycling and public transport.

A strong base which reflects the local historical context and an undulating top creating an interesting streetscape

In the absence of any strong architectural language within this area, we interpreted materials in a fresh and modern style, ensuring the proposal consisted of a mixture of high-quality materials, maximising daylight into the spaces and providing a high-quality design which contributes to the city skyline.
